Peter Scott

Peter Scott is Professor of International Business History at the University of Reading's Henley Business School, Director of the School's Centre for International Business History, and a trustee of the Business Archives Council. His current research interests include the evolution of mass consumption, mass marketing, and mass retailing; the early development of home-ownership and working-class suburbanisation in interwar Britain; and working-class living standards and household budgeting prior to the Second World War. His monograph, Triumph of the South: A Regional Economic History of Early Twentieth Century Britain (Ashgate, 2007) was awarded the 2008 Wadsworth prize for the best book on British business history.
