Giuliano Maielli

Giuliano graduated in Humanities, and completed a post-graduate course (Corso di specializzazione post lauream) in Business History and Business Economics at Bari University. In 2003, he received his PhD in Economic History from the London School of Economics with a thesis on "Managerial Culture and Company Survival: Technological Change and Output-mix Optimisation at Fiat, 1960 - 1987". Giuliano's research interests revolve around the relationship between tangible capital accumulation, intangible capital formation, and strategic decision-making in large-scale manufacturing.

In particular, he is interested in both theoretical and empirical applications of path dependency and evolutionary theories of economic change to the analysis of technological and organisational developments in the car industry, with a specific focus on the introduction Giuliano is a lecturer in Operations Management at the School of Business and Management, Queen Mary University of London.
