Alan Carroll

Alan graduated in Humanities at The Open University UK, and completed a post-graduate MA course in the psycho-dynamics of historical US political decision making at the University of Waterloo, Ontario. In 2004, he received his PhD in Business History with a thesis on "Re-evaluating the performance of a nationalised industry – The National Freight Corporation 1947-1982". Alan’s research interests are centred upon organisational management and development over time. Particular research interest focuses upon performance inter-relationships between people and business organisations over time, and the development of conceptual and empirical qualitative models for the analysis of organisational performance. Alan is a senior lecturer in Operations and Supply Chain Management at the School of Strategy and International Business, Leeds Metropolitan University.
